In a deja vu moment, the Calcutta Municipal Corporation (CMC) witnessed a chaotic session reminiscent of September's turmoil. The recent session was marred by a heated exchange between the ruling party and the opposition, resulting in a temporary halt to the proceedings.

The incident unfolded when former mayor councilor Shamsuzzaman Ansari arrived late and occupied the seat designated for BJP parliamentary party leader Meenadevi Purohit. Despite opposition councilors informing Ansari of the error, he persisted and reportedly even displaced documents belonging to Purohit, leading to a confrontation. Sloganeering erupted as the opposition accused ruling party councilors of discarding the documents, escalating tensions within the session room.
